Years 3 and 4 – Kingfisher Class

Welcome to Kingfisher Class!

Mrs Hilditch teaches us on Mondays and Tuesdays, and Miss Spain, teaches us on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Mrs Moseley is our teaching assistant who supports us in class every day.

We love learning and believe that being active learners helps us to develop in independence. We enjoy using Lego, drama, the outdoor area and equipment to explore our topics.

Useful information:

PE: Our PE day is Tuesday and is led by a specialist PE teacher from Sir John Talbot’s School.

Daily 15: We go outside every day to complete the daily 15 on our fantastic running track with the aim of being able to run continuously for 15 minutes. Please ensure that your child has trainers and a coat in school daily as we aim to get out whatever the weather.

Spelling: We follow no nonsense spelling in line with the national curriculum requirements for years 3/4. Spelling patterns and rules are taught as a focused lesson weekly within school and then children practice words, explore patterns, use dictionaries to learn the definitions of new vocabulary and write new spelling in sentence. Each child also has a spelling frame login which they can use at home to practice spellings they are set each week.
