Last week in Lower Heath Nursery, we celebrated International Women’s Day and British Science Week and looked at the ladies of NASA. We listened to the work done by Katherine Johnson, Mary Jackson and Dorothy Vaughan’s to help launch the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon and labelled them for our display; we made our own Moon based small world area with a sparkly numbered countdown from 5 to 1; created cakes to represent spaceships in the galaxy; made shape based rocket pictures and after watching Grampy Rabbit land on the Moon in a Peppa Pig episode, we decided to use recycled materials to create our own space rockets to launch in our outdoor learning area.
