Year 1/2 – Skylark Class

Welcome to Skylark Class!

We are taught by Mrs Ward (Maternity Leave) and Mrs Leighton. We are assisted by Mrs Moseley and Ms Brown who support us with our learning each morning throughout the week.

We are an active and enthusiastic class who love to complete practical tasks and lead our own learning.

In Skylark Class, we take part in daily handwriting (Kinetic Letters), phonics (following Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised), writing and maths sessions. In the afternoons, we enjoy enriching activities and wider curriculum subjects.

Every day, we put on our running shoes and head outside to our daily 15 running track to ensure that we keep fit and healthy.

Reading

Please aim to read together for 10 minutes each day and record this on the digital Go Read system. This can be one of our decodable stories (matched to our individual phonics level) or a shared text.

Important things to remember:

Skylark Class Timetable:

Reading books – children’s decodable phonics books are changed each Friday; digital Go Read records are checked on this day.

Homework – set on Class Dojo on a Friday and handed in electronically or to the class teacher (depending on the task) on a Tuesday.
