Xplore Robotic Coding Workshop - Kingfisher Class

Today, we had our Xplore! coding and robotics workshop, which the children very enthusiastically described as “the best workshop ever!” 🤖
It was certainly a huge hit with Kingfishers. The children worked in teams to build Milo the robot, before learning how to code him to move, change colours and even make sounds. They collaborated brilliantly and received high praise from the workshop leaders for their teamwork, problem-solving and enthusiasm. It was wonderful to see!

Looking for a fun an

Manchester 2026 🚗
A residential visit to Manchester provided the perfect backdrop for three days of exploration, discovery and new experiences for our Lower Heath pupils.
Coming from rural Shropshire, the children were fascinated by the scale and pace of city life. Walking through busy streets, surrounded by towering skyscrapers and colourful street art, was a real eye opener and sparked lots of thoughtful conversations.

The itinerary offered a rich mix of opportunities. Pupils took part in a multi faith workshop and visited the Jewish Museum, helping to deepen their understanding of different beliefs and communities. They also explored museums, an art gallery, the Sea Life Centre and even took on the challenge of a Crystal Maze experience, which tested their teamwork, problem solving and determination.

For many, the standout moment was an evening at the Palace Theatre to watch Annie. The energy, performance and shared excitement made it a truly special experience.

It has been wonderful to see the children step outside their comfort zone, embrace something new and make the most of every opportunity the city had to offer, creating memories that will stay with them for years to come.

We are absolutely delighted to have our link with DCP Drums.

Joe, the children’s teacher, regularly supports them to showcase their learning through performances for the whole school. He is a brilliant advocate for the joy of music, encouraging our pupils to have a go, persevere and truly enjoy making music together.

Learning to play the drums is far from easy. It takes coordination, rhythm, focus and a great deal of practice, and our pupils showed all of these qualities in abundance. We were so proud of the determination and enthusiasm on display.

A huge thank you to Joe and DCP Drums for nurturing a love of music in our school. Experiences like this make such a lasting difference. 🎶🥁
