Nursery, Dear Zoo…

Last week in Nursery we celebrated the reopening of Chester Zoo by looking at the focus book ‘Dear Zoo’ by Rod Campbell.

Lower Heath Nursery currently has an active adoption of the penguins at Chester Zoo, so we have looked at their enclosures and that of other zoo animals. The children spent time building their own zoo and added in the different animals with labels. We have also learned to retell the story using Makaton signing and recreated the crates and boxes used to transport the animals by recycling old packaging.
