Meet our team | Mrs Ward
Our staff at Lower Heath are a brilliant team! But do you know who we are and what makes us tick? Here’s a message from Mrs Ward!
“As one of the newest members of the Lower Heath family, joining the school in September 2022, I have had the great pleasure of getting to know all pupils and staff at an exciting and ever-changing time for the school. I qualified at a class teacher in the summer of 2022, having completed my training in various schools around Cheshire, where I am from. Prior to teaching, I had a varied and interesting career including having previously studied and worked in Liverpool and Newcastle Upon Tyne towards my qualification as a medical doctor. I have also been very fortunate to have spent time abroad in Japan, Mexico and Tanzania doing long-term volunteering projects, which gave me all the motivation I needed to know that I wanted to work with children for the rest of my career. Since starting at Lower Heath, I have worked closely with Miss Williams and Mrs Hilditch as a Year 1/2 Skylark teacher and have learned so much from all members of the Lower Heath team! I knew as soon as I came to Lower Heath that the school was something special. It’s friendly, intimate atmosphere (as well as it’s interesting architecture!), drew me to choose it as the starting point for a hopefully long and successful career in teaching and I look forward to seeing how it develops over the next few years with all of the exciting future plans. As a part-time member of staff, I am kept busy the rest of the week by my 2 young children, Toby (4) and Calla (2) and there is never a shortage of places to be and things to do. I enjoy spending time outdoors, with my animals and doing yoga when I can. I am excited to return back to Lower Heath after my upcoming maternity leave and see all of the amazing things that the team are working on!”
