Year 5/6 – Owl Class

 Welcome to Owl Class!

We are taught by Mr Holt-Williams and Miss Lewis supports us with our learning throughout the week.

In our class, we have wonderful, hardworking, friendly and polite Year 5 and 6 children. As the oldest children in the school, we have a lot of responsibility.  We like to be good role models for the younger children, and we take on extra tasks; these jobs help us to be independent and we enjoy them very much. These tasks include being wellbeing ambassadors; playground ambassadors; reading ambassadors and ‘One Voice’ ambassadors where we share our views and ideas with other schools in out trust.

As a church school, we have a daily act of worship, and we enjoy leading worship within class and with the whole school. On our page, we have included an example of one of the presentations we use to lead worship.

In Owl Class, in the mornings, we focus on developing our learning in English and mathematics. In the afternoons, we enjoy wider curriculum subjects (science, history, geography, art, D&T, Music, PE, PSHE, computing and French). Every day, we also put on our running shoes and head outside to our daily 15 running track to ensure that we keep fit and healthy.

We also have many opportunities to enrich our learning through trips and visits and regular outdoor learning sessions. We are also very lucky that we have a 3-day residential each year. On one year, we go to York where we can experience life in a city, on the other year, we visit an outdoor education centre where we take part in exciting activities such as climbing, caving and abseiling.
